Overview

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is a Nigerian-founded Holiness-Pentecostal megachurch and denomination, established in Lagos in 1952 by Josiah Akindayomi and shaped under Pastor Enoch Adeboye from 1981 onward. RCCG has become one of the largest Christian bodies globally through aggressive church planting, with tens of thousands of congregations on every continent. AskCredo places RCCG in the C-tier as a doctrinally Pentecostal body whose Holiness-Pentecostal soteriology, Spirit-baptism teaching, and prosperity-adjacent currents in parts of its global ministry depart from Reformed confessional theology, even as it has generally maintained historic Christian teaching on sexual ethics.
