AskCredo.ai ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at askcredo.ai and the AskCredo mobile application. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Information We Collect
Theological questions you type — sent to our cloud functions to generate answers. Questions may be stored in Firestore to power shared Q&A pages and to improve the service.
Account email address — if you sign in via Firebase Authentication (optional).
IP address — logged briefly by Google Cloud Functions for rate-limiting and abuse prevention; not stored long-term.
Advertising & analytics cookies — set by Google on your device when you visit the site (see Section 3). Requires your consent in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and California.
2. How We Use Your Information
To generate and display AI theological responses.
To publish anonymised shared Q&A pages (e.g. askcredo.ai/q/…) for organic discovery.
To measure site traffic and improve the product (Google Analytics 4).
To serve relevant advertisements that fund free access (Google AdSense, Google AdMob on mobile).
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may set cookies or collect data on our behalf:
Google AdSense (ca-pub-7336922222345406) — serves display ads inside the live chat experience only. We do not show ads on shared question pages (/q/*), topic hubs, scripture/confession indexes, or other static reference pages. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-NR6V4BFF33) — collects anonymised usage data (page views, session duration). Google Privacy Policy
Google Programmable Search Engine + AdSense for Search — the "Read free online" button opens a Google-hosted search page (cse.google.com). Google may show ads on that page and applies its own privacy policy there.
Google AdMob — serves ads within the iOS and Android apps. Governed by Google's privacy policy and your device's ad-ID settings.
Firebase Analytics — anonymous in-app event tracking on mobile only.
Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and non-fatal error logs from the mobile app to help us diagnose and fix stability issues. No personally identifiable information is included in crash reports.
Firebase Performance Monitoring — measures app startup time and network request latency to help us improve app speed. Data is aggregated and not linked to individual users.
Firebase Authentication — handles sign-in if you choose to create an account. Stores your email address.
Google Cloud Firestore — stores saved questions and shared Q&A data.
4. Consent & Your Choices
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or California, we request your consent before activating advertising and analytics tracking. You can change your preferences at any time:

5. Data Retention
Firestore conversation data is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google Analytics defaults. You may request deletion of your account data at any time.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. To exercise these rights, email us at support@askcredo.ai.
7. Children
AskCredo.ai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
