Overview

Non-denominational and community churches are independent congregations belonging to no denomination, and together they now account for one of the largest Protestant self-identifications in the United States. They are defined by what they lack — a binding confession, a denominational judicatory, and any external doctrinal accountability — so their teaching ranges from thoroughly Reformed to thoroughly Arminian, and from carefully confessional to doctrinally minimal, congregation by congregation.
