Church of the Nazarene

Overview

The Church of the Nazarene is the largest denomination to emerge from the nineteenth-century Wesleyan-holiness movement, formed through a series of mergers completed in 1908. It holds the Articles of Faith of its own Manual, teaches entire sanctification as a second definite work of grace subsequent to regeneration, and is Arminian in its account of grace and perseverance. AskCredo places the Nazarenes in the B-tier as an orthodox Wesleyan body on the Trinity, the incarnation and the atonement, with Reformed reservations about entire sanctification and about a soteriology in which the believer's perseverance is conditional.
