Overview

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is the mainline wing of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement, restructured as a denomination in 1968. It practises believer's baptism by immersion and weekly communion, holds an open table, and requires no doctrinal subscription of its members beyond confession of Jesus as the Christ. AskCredo places the Disciples in the C-tier: the body has moved a considerable distance in a liberal direction on Scripture, sexuality and the exclusivity of Christ, and its founding principle of requiring no doctrinal standard means there is nothing confessional the library can quote in a member's behalf.
