United Reformed Churches in North America

URCNA, URC
S — Strict confessional

Overview

The United Reformed Churches in North America (URCNA) is a confessional federation of Dutch Reformed churches, formed in 1996 by congregations leaving the Christian Reformed Church over its drift on Scripture and the ordination of women. The federation subscribes to the Three Forms of Unity — Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and Canons of Dort — with strict confessional fidelity, and its ministers are expected to preach the Heidelberg Catechism in the second service of the Lord's Day. AskCredo places the URCNA in the S-tier for its unflinching commitment to the continental Reformed confessions.
