Your true identity and worth are not found in your own achievements or status, but are anchored entirely in your union with Jesus Christ. Because you are hidden in Him, you are fully accepted, loved, and redeemed, receiving His righteousness as your own before God.
⚓ Rooted in Christ Alone
The search for identity often leads to the 'flesh'—our own accomplishments, lineage, or moral performance. However, Scripture reveals that all such things are but 'rubbish' compared to the surpassing value of knowing Jesus. According to Philippians 3:8-9, true worth is found in being 'found in Him, not having my own righteousness from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ.' This gospel truth is echoed in Heidelberg Catechism Q.1, which teaches that our only comfort in life and death is that we do not belong to ourselves, but to our faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who has fully satisfied for all our sins.
